What a wild Friday! It was unexpected.
I'm not much for the here is how my day went posting and I don't do much of that on my blog, but this one was another wild day.
Okay, for starters I got up today and I called a fellow PCTV21. I said I came up with a great Public Service Announcement. I want to do a wear your seat belts ad, but as a Mafia Don. She said that was great so we got together around five PM and she had business at the station to do as did I.
Well, we did that plus I got to speak with another producer and we now may work on something together. Then later we met my producers friend and she bought us dinner, thank you, my friend, and fellow producer, her friend is a local news personality, actor, writer, producer, and other media so two networking connections in one day.
Well, we finally go to shoot the PSA and I'm doing the PSA in my stereotypical black suit, red tie.
In the middle of the shoot this guy comes out and he's like hey, are you shooting a movie? We tell him about the PSA and that we're both producers at PCTV21 and we say would you like to be in the PSA? He says sure! So, I adlib a script on the spot and boom, the PSA is shot with a person I did not even know an hour earlier. The guy did a great job and he will be on both of our shows in the future, but this is even wilder. The man and my friend are talking and it turns out that his mother lived by my friend years ago and their friends! Now is that strange or not?
We shot on the North Side of Pittsburgh PA and the look is great. You can see almost all of downtown Pittsburgh, but most people never even think to go to this lookout which means that when it is shown on TV I expect a few calls will come into the station trying to find out how to get to that great lookout, but at least we can say we were the first PCTV21 producers to shoot there. It was a great day and I thought it would be nice to talk about to my friends here on the blog.
