Can't help but be thankful for every day.
I was with my friend, Miss Nora, we went shooting on location for my show Humanity Matters and her show Profiles in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Both of which air on PCTV21 In Pittsburgh.
We shot footage of nature today and scenes of Pittsburgh, PA. We shot both in daylight and at night. While we were filming one thought kept sinking in to my mind how wonderful it is that me and Miss Nora were alive and able to shoot this day.
I thought of all those who have died over the years and of Dennard Summers, producer of Steel City Video Mix. I thought of famous people who have died and then I thought how lucky those who are alive for this day really are. Sure, we may not think about it, but everyday someone was here today and are dead the next.
How can we, the living, not be thankful for our life? Those who are fighting a deadly illness wishing only to live longer or hoping for a cure how can we who are healthy enough to walk, talk, think, see, hear, not reflect on how lucky we are?
Some are not as lucky and may have hills to overcome with their health issues. To them I say do not lose hope, my friends, and know that there are those of us out there who think of you and who honor your brave efforts in life. Christopher Reeve was a Superman in real life way more than he ever was on screen. He rose up and fought to his last day to see that someday many an illness could be cured. I say this with great honor, respect, and admiration. Christopher Reeve, you are a Super Hero! I said are? Yes, because I believe wherever his soul is now I know him to be free again and able to fly unseen, unheard but none the less he is there and his deeds shall live on forever.
When you wake up later today reflect if only for a second and be thankful that indeed you woke up today and you are alive.
Sometimes standing up for one makes you a leader of many.
