Why I say Sometimes standing up for one makes you the leader of many.

Note: I don't think myself to be special that I would risk my life to save another life. I think we should all be this way as what we gain makes it worth the risk.

Well, I am saying that if we do our part to insure that all people are treated fairly, get equal education, justice, pay, and are not harmed then by doing that for just one person can make you a leader in the eyes of many. This must not be why we do this. We must do it as it is what is right and just.

It is for us to do this as we would want others to do this for us should we ever need it.

Example: In high school I had a friend who was an exchange student. Well everyday a group of eight guys would put junk in his food at lunch or punch him and abuse him in other ways including verbal. I would sit there and want to take action to defend him, but he did not want to cause trouble he would say to me. I said to him not eating your food is going to make you not do well in school and you'll get weak, but he said please do nothing. I reluctantly agreed.

On one school day they put milk in his food then mustard in his remaining food. I did nothing, I was angry, but did nothing then I had my coat on the lunch table and it went on their section. One of them took my coat and threw it on the ground! I got pissed and said pick up my coat and leave it there it is not bugging you just leave me alone.

He refused so I told his friends have him pick it up now. Well, this got me to stand up in the lunch room and I said look, you may do this shit to my friend and other people, but not me! Next thing I know he stands up and I say another thing.

You will forever quit bugging my friends then four more stand up. I stood there as stern as possible. I said pick up the coat please nothing was done.

I said I'd pick it up or I'll get pissed. Three more stand up so now we have all of them standing up against one, Just me! My friend was afraid of them. Then he said what the fuck you going to do about it, wimp? I said wimp? Is that so I'm a wimp? Then one of the other boys said yeah, you are. At this point I said your picking up my coat now and if you don't I'll beat the hell out of you for not picking it up and for picking on my friend all this time so pick the coat up you fucking asshole!! Well, he said you against all of us?

I said you got it prick! Now or after school, you choose! Well, school lets out and here I am all by myself taking on these punks. I said you'll beat me, but I'd call your mother first. All of you should because even though I'll lose 8-1 I'm damn sure going to hurt one or two of you and I'm not holding anything back so one of you might die. I said this is a fight to the death for me as I see it after all 8-1 a guy could get killed, but I'm taking out some of you mother fuckers!! Well, to my shock they backed off. I have no idea why unless they really thought I would be able to hurt them very badly or kill one? But, they never did bother me or my friends again. In fact three of them believe it or not became our friend and the other ones would say hi to us all the time and this is what I mean when I say sometimes standing up for one makes you the leader of many. It made these kids see that not everyone will back down even with such great odds and it caused many kids in my school not to be picked on.

To them I guess they may have thought I was a leader, who know? What I do know is those eight punks became good people and they all stayed in school. I saw one a few months ago and he is doing well in life, he has three children of his own. I'd like to tell you I know why they backed down, but I don't. I just never asked, it did not seem to matter after that showdown and I was just glad that nobody got hurt plus we gained a few friends.

As for other examples: well, I have gone to court to help friends, former friends and family to fight for their rights. I just believe we must defend one another and start loving one another.

So, the motto stays or one like it will always be in all post and e-mail.
